On 18 June, the ASMAR shipyards celebrated the launch of the Chilean Navy’s multipurpose vessel LPD-93 «Magallanes», a strategic programme in which Industrias FERRI has taken part by supplying some of the unit’s essential equipment.

Specifically, FERRI has fitted the vessel with two deck cranes and four davits: two for fast rescue craft and two specifically for workboats.

Equipment for rescue and work at sea

FERRI’s davits are designed for the safe launch and recovery of rescue boats, liferafts and auxiliary boats, and are certified to the international SOLAS regulations. More than 150 vessels worldwide carry them on board. The cranes, for their part, are already fitted on more than 200 vessels, in configurations tailored to each unit and its mission.

Commitment to the programme

FERRI has congratulated the Chilean Navy and ASMAR on the successful launch. Although it was unable to join them in person at the ceremony, the company has sincerely thanked them for the invitation, reaffirmed its commitment to this important programme and wished the vessel and her future crew fair winds in all their operations.
